Lorraine Hawthorne-Morrison is the Chief Administrative Officer of Golden Krust where she prepares, analyzes, and directs administrative, operational and planning processes. She previously served as Vice President of Real Estate Development and Legal. She has been with Golden Krust since its inception. In 1994, Lorraine was charged with the responsibility of developing and launching the Franchise division of Golden Krust. After much due diligence, and tenacity, Golden Krust Franchising was born. Through the franchise unit structure, she provides facility expansion and capacity management. Her experience and expertise in matrix reporting, allow her to provide leadership oversight for the development of high quality, cost-effective integrated programs.
Lorraine is also Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the Mavis and Ephraim Hawthorne Golden Krust Foundation. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership where she graduated Summa cum Laude.
Daren Hawthorne is the President of the Restaurant Division of Golden Krust, where he oversees both the franchise and corporate-owned restaurants. Daren grew up in Golden Krust and served as a cashier, server, and baker throughout his teenage years. Daren served on the Concept Development Strategists team, also known as the “think tank,” throughout his higher education matriculation. Daren previously held positions of Corporate Counsel, and Executive Vice President of Franchising & Corporate Counsel. Daren sits on several Board of Directors, including Golden Krust’s.
Daren pursued his undergraduate studies at American University Washington, D.C. He received his law degree at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Chancellor’s Leadership Award, and the distinction of graduating first in his law school class.
Haywood Hawthorne is the president of the Retail division of Golden Krust. This division encompasses Manufacturing, Retail, Foodservice, and Distribution. Haywood has spent over 20 years with Golden Krust; having emigrated to the United States in 1998 shortly after graduating Meadowbrook High School in Kingston Jamaica. Haywood also served the organization as Retail Baker, Information Technology Director, Purchasing Manager, Accounting Clerk, Payroll Administrator and in his most recent role as Vice President of Manufacturing and IT. He also serves as a Director on the company’s Board of Directors, where he has been a member since 2011.
Haywood earned his bachelor’s degree from Lehman College of the City University of New York where he majored in Accounting and Finance. Haywood is currently pursuing an MBA specializing in finance from Southern New Hampshire University.
Steven has managed the full spectrum of marketing and communications needs for Golden Krust. Under his leadership, the company has conducted a full rebrand, including restaurant and retail packaging redesign, resulting in double-digit ROI year over year. His dedication to innovation has digitized the Golden Krust brand, increasing convenience and accessibility for old and new customers.
Serving as the company’s spokesperson, he interacts with major TV, radio and print media, managing crises and securing local, regional and national earned media.
Steven continues to conceive and execute new ways to expand the company’s footprint — including introducing third-party delivery to Golden Krust restaurants, aiding in the development of non-GMO verified plant-based menu offerings, and launching resonant influencer marketing campaigns, including one with Grammy-winner, Lizzo, for the Beyond Meat® patty.
Steven is a proud immigrant from Kingston, Jamaica, and a graduate of St. John’s University.
Kenric is a result-focused leader who delivers talent acquisition retention, and motivation solutions that has helped Golden Krust harness their most valuable asset – our people. He is dedicated to creating a robust culture that promotes continuous business growth and cultivates customer loyalty by empowering and motivating employees to realize their full potential and bring their best to the job.
Having his Golden Krust career path starting in the production plant as a safety coordinator, Kenric has spent two years in such a role learning the importance of communication, collaboration and teamwork for the business.
With a background in Information Technology, minoring in philosophy and being an entrepreneur for over 18 years negotiating contracts with several country organizations, steering the execution of HR strategies which championed the business.
Kenric’s greatest accomplishment to date is his contribution in building an awesome corporate culture at GK.
